Questions families ask

How is my swimmer placed in a level?

At a placement visit: a short time in the water with an instructor, who suggests a level and a cap color. Then you pick a class from the schedule.

What is a level?

A level is a group of skills, from blowing bubbles to linking strokes, with a cap color so everyone at the pool can see where a class is. Ages are a guide, and the instructor decides when a swimmer moves up.

How long is a class?

Water comfort and Floating classes last half an hour. The other four levels last forty-five minutes. A session runs eight weeks.

Can the class be in Spanish?

Yes. Clotilde, Eleazar and Arleth teach in Spanish and English, and the front desk answers in both. Tell us your language at the placement visit or on the form, and we will look for a class with an instructor who speaks it.

What do we bring?

A towel, goggles if your swimmer likes them, and a swimsuit or swim shirt. Every swimmer wears a cap in their level's color, and we keep a few to borrow for the first visit.

Where do I watch?

On the bench behind the glass wall, or on the deck by the steps. A parent or guardian stays on site during every class.

Who is in the water with my swimmer?

An instructor, in the water or on the step beside every swimmer. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.

What if we miss a class?

You can make it up in another class of the same level within the session, if there is room. Tell us as early as you can.

What if the pool closes?

We text families, and the class is made up within the same session.

How does tuition work?

It depends on the level, the class length and the classes a week. Our figures are on the enrollment page, and the page on how tuition works explains each part.
